Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Baltimore, MD)

Rivermark Thistle Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Baltimore, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
