Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Austin, TX)

Westbrook Beacon Water Authority Group is a public water utility serving the Austin area, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our reliability and monitoring. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about capital projects into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with capital projects. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Austin. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
