Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Anchorage, AK)

Clearpath River Insurance is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on reliability and monitoring for underwriting files, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 114 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
