Software Engineer - reliability and monitoring (Albuquerque, NM)

Bright Orchard Energy is an energy provider in Albuquerque focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on reliability and monitoring. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about usage data into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with usage data. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Albuquerque. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
