Software Engineer - mobile experience (Virginia Beach, VA)

Bright Ridge Insurance Associates provides coverage to households and businesses around Virginia Beach, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our mobile experience. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about catastrophe response into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with catastrophe response.
