Software Engineer - mobile experience (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Ridge Insurance and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be mobile experience. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about catastrophe response into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Jose, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
