Software Engineer - mobile experience (Richmond, VA)

Silverline Vale Water Authority Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on mobile experience for meter reading, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 124 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about meter reading into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
