Software Engineer - mobile experience (remote)

Harborlight Haven Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Rochester. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on mobile experience. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Turn requests about policy renewals into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with policy renewals. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Rochester. • We reply to every applicant.
