Software Engineer - mobile experience (remote)

Fernwood Yarrow Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Oakland focused on reliable home and business connections. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on mobile experience. You would join a small organisation of about 12 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about customer tickets into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with customer tickets. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
