Software Engineer - mobile experience (New Orleans, LA)

Summit Amber Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around New Orleans, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our mobile experience. You would join a large organisation of about 657 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about premium billing into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with premium billing. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
