Software Engineer - mobile experience (Houston, TX)

Clearpath Thistle Insurance Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on mobile experience for policy renewals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about policy renewals into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
