Software Engineer - mobile experience (Detroit, MI)

Lumen Timber Learning Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on mobile experience for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about family communication into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
