Software Engineer - internal tools (Toledo, OH)

Summit West Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Toledo working with agencies and riders, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about survey data into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with survey data. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
