Software Engineer - internal tools (Tampa, FL)

Fernwood Meridian Inspection Services Group tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Tampa, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about equipment calibration into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Tampa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
