Software Engineer - internal tools (St. Louis, MO)

Cedar Ember Insurance is an insurance company in St. Louis with claims and service teams. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Turn requests about claims into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
