Software Engineer - internal tools (Savannah, GA)

Fernwood Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Savannah focused on reliable home and business connections. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 145 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
