Software Engineer - internal tools (San Diego, CA)

Redstone Vale Water Authority Group operates treatment plants and pipelines around San Diego, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about water quality into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
