Software Engineer - internal tools (Sacramento, CA)

Lumen North Water Authority Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for billing accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
