Software Engineer - internal tools (Richmond, VA)

Bluepeak Corner Early Learning runs childcare centres in Richmond caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Turn requests about enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
