Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Fernwood Mill Telecom is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for field visits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about field visits into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with field visits. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
