Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Amberfield Bright Early Learning runs childcare centres in Boston caring for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 84 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
