Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Nova Energy is an energy provider in El Paso focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about hardship programmes into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with hardship programmes. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in El Paso. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
