Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Fernwood Oak Legal Group is a Hartford practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. We are a close group and share the work. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about intake forms into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with intake forms. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Hartford. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
