Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Clearpath River Insurance Group sells home, auto and small-business insurance in St. Louis, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 45 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about underwriting files into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
