Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Bright Birch Energy is an energy provider in Nashville focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about hardship programmes into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with hardship programmes. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
