Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Bluepeak Stone Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Dallas working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 31 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about fare systems into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with fare systems. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Dallas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
