Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Ironwood Umber Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Baltimore. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about equipment calibration into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
