Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

We are growing our team at Cedar Vista Water Authority and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be internal tools. You would join a large organisation of about 596 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Turn requests about treatment plant data into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with treatment plant data. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
