Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Bright Quarry Energy is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for outage response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with outage response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
