Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Redstone Umber Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Knoxville, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about safety inspections into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with safety inspections. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
