Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Bright Bridge Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Raleigh working with agencies and riders. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would join a large organisation of about 714 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about fare systems into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with fare systems. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Raleigh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
