Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Northwind Junction Community Partners is a San Diego charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about grant reporting into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with grant reporting. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
