Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Ember Financial and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be internal tools. Teams collaborate across risk, service and technology. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about payment disputes into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with payment disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Des Moines. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
