Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Cedar Amber Insurance is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for customer complaints, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Turn requests about customer complaints into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
