Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Bright Amber Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Raleigh area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Turn requests about learning materials into simple, maintainable software. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with learning materials. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Raleigh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
