Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Fernwood Harbor Energy delivers power and gas plans across the Portland region. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about usage data into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Portland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
