Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Amberfield Union Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Milwaukee area, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about outage reports into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with outage reports. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Milwaukee. • We reply to every applicant.
