Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Harborlight Learning Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for attendance records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Turn requests about attendance records into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with attendance records. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Houston. • We reply to every applicant.
