Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Greenridge Birch Energy Group is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for hardship programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 195 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Turn requests about hardship programmes into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with hardship programmes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Portland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
