Software Engineer - internal tools (remote)

Northwind Willow Insurance is an insurance company in Columbus with claims and service teams, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. You would join a large organisation of about 229 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Columbus. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
