Software Engineer - internal tools (Pittsburgh, PA)

Bright Mill Care Services is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 908 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about family communication into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Pittsburgh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
