Software Engineer - internal tools (Minneapolis, MN)

Harborlight Lantern Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Minneapolis and nearby communities, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Turn requests about pipe repairs into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with pipe repairs. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Minneapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
