Software Engineer - internal tools (Madison, WI)

Northwind Forge Energy is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Madison, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
