Software Engineer - internal tools (Madison, WI)

Northwind West Energy is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about meter readings into simple, maintainable software. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Madison. • We reply to every applicant.
