Software Engineer - internal tools (Knoxville, TN)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Thistle Early Learning Group and adding a Software Engineer whose main responsibility will be internal tools. You would join a large organisation of about 923 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Turn requests about enrolment into simple, maintainable software. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. Nice to have • Experience with enrolment. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
