Software Engineer - internal tools (Houston, TX)

Amberfield Nest Water Authority Group is a public water utility serving the Houston area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about water quality into simple, maintainable software. What we are looking for • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
