Software Engineer - internal tools (Detroit, MI)

Ironwood Wilder Insurance Partners is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for policy renewals, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Turn requests about policy renewals into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with policy renewals. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
