Software Engineer - internal tools (Detroit, MI)

Summit Quarry Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Detroit area. We are hiring a Software Engineer to take on internal tools. You would join a small organisation of about 46 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Turn requests about customer tickets into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with customer tickets. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
