Software Engineer - internal tools (Charlotte, NC)

Fernwood Umber Inspection Services is looking for a Software Engineer. The job centres on internal tools for test reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 739 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Integrate our systems with vendors and partners through APIs. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. • Turn requests about test reports into simple, maintainable software. • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. What we are looking for • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. Nice to have • Experience with test reports. • Cloud deployment experience. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
