Software Engineer - internal tools (Charleston, SC)

Cedar Corner Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Charleston, and we need a Software Engineer to lead our internal tools. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Improve monitoring so we hear about problems before customers do. • Turn requests about billing accounts into simple, maintainable software. • Fix bugs quickly and add tests so they stay fixed. • Build and maintain web features used every day by our staff and customers. • Review teammates' code and share what you learn. What we are looking for • Care about security and privacy of the data we hold. • Comfort with SQL and a relational database. • Two or more years of professional software development. • Proficiency in a mainstream language such as TypeScript, Python, Java or C#. Nice to have • Cloud deployment experience. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
